Two years ago, soccer fans flocked to Korea to say that world-famous soccer star Ronaldo was coming to Korea, but Ronaldo just sat on the bench and went back. The so-called ‘Ronaldo no-show’ storm continues. Another court ruling has come out that the organizer, who promoted ‘Ronaldo is playing’, must return part of the ticket price.

In 2019, ‘The Festa’ prepared a friendly match between Ronaldo’s club Juventus and Team K League.

Ahead of the match, we publicly advertised Ronaldo to domestic soccer fans.

However, on the day of the match, the fan meeting was only held for about 30 minutes due to Juventus arriving late at the stadium, and the match was delayed by nearly an hour.

Besides, Ronaldo only sat on the bench and went back.

About 4,700 people including Mr. A filed a lawsuit against The Festa to return the ticket price.

And today (15th), it was confirmed that the court ordered the organizer to “pay about 869 million won.”

Previously, The Festa claimed, “It is not our responsibility that Ronaldo did not participate of his own will.”

However, the court said that the defendant “has a contractual obligation to play Ronaldo and provide the match.”

He added, “Even if there was no direct intentional or negligence, we cannot escape liability for default.”

However, the court considered that 60% of the purchase amount was appropriate, considering that the game was held normally.

This isn’t the first time the crowd has filed a lawsuit against The Festa.

Previously, in February and June, there were judgments related to ‘Ronaldo no-show’, all of which were won by the audience.
