When questioned about the incident, McIlroy’s response was firm: “No, you can’t.”
When asked why, he replied, “Because I don’t want you to.”
Despite laughing, the 2019 champion made his position clear. He was more forthcoming about the tournament itself, where he trails the lead by a single stroke.
