The 12th edition of the Cup of Hope, sponsored by CIMAF, concluded on September 7, 2024, at the Môgôma môgô wélé field in Niénéta, sector 12 of Bobo-Dioulasso. The Cercle Royal team emerged victorious, claiming the trophy.
Making Football a Factor of Social Unity
The Youth Cooperative for the Development of Bobo-Dioulasso initiated the Cup of Hope with CIMAF as sponsor, aiming to make football a factor of social unity and cohesion. The 2024 edition, themed “Football, social cohesion factor,” kicked off in June and brought together 48 teams. The final match pitted Wifama FC against Cercle Royal, with the latter winning 2-1 in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw.
Women’s Hope Cup: Dragon CB Takes the Trophy
The first edition of the Women’s Hope Cup saw the Amazon team facing off against the Dragon CB team. The match ended with a score of 2-1 in favor of Dragon CB, who took home the trophy.
Strengthening Social Cohesion
Aboudramane Sanou, president of the organizing committee, emphasized that the tournament allowed young people to come together and fraternize through football. He assured that the committee would continue to strengthen these social bonds. Aboubacar Koïta, founder of the “Le Savoir” School Complex and sponsor of the edition, thanked the organizers and CIMAF for providing young people with opportunities to flourish during the school holidays.
