RRR villain Ray Stevenson bids farewell to the world of film

The film world is saying goodbye to Irish actor Ray Stevenson (58), who gave a brilliant performance as the brutal villain in Rajamouli’s blockbuster ‘RRR’ He died in Italy on Sunday due to illness. He fell ill during the shooting of the film and was admitted to hospital.

Ray played the British Governor, the main villain in RRR Director SS Rajamouli said he could not believe the news of the actor’s demise.

Ray was born in 1964 in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. The first film was ‘The Theory of Flight’ (1998) by Paul Greengrass. Ray has starred in the ‘King Arthur’ and ‘Thor’ film franchises, the live action series ‘Star Wars’, HBO’s hit TV series Rome, and the Vikings and Dexter series. His wife is Italian anthropologist Elisabetta Caraccia.
