A man allegedly preparing a drone attack on a Russian military facility was killed Friday, according to Russia’s National Guard. The incident occurred in the Ryazan region, southeast of Moscow.
The National Guard stated the man was detected “preparing a terrorist attack using a drone.” They added,”During the arrest,the criminal gave armed resistance and was neutralized.” The agency released surveillance footage showing a hooded individual attempting to launch a drone in a field before being pursued by armed officers.
This incident follows coordinated drone attacks by Ukraine earlier in the week, wich damaged military planes at Russian airbases. These Ukrainian drone strikes involved small,remote-operated drones smuggled into Russia.
the drones, concealed in wooden cabins on trucks, were transported close to the airbases and launched together.
