Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine – The southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia is grappling with the aftermath of russian strikes that struck the city on Tuesday, leaving one person dead and at least nine others injured.

The scale of the attack was significant, with public broadcaster Suspilne reporting at least ten separate strikes impacting the city.
While Moscow has consistently denied targeting civilians throughout the conflict, as reported by The Guardian, the impact on Zaporizhzhia paints a grim picture for residents.
The strikes come amidst ongoing military activity in the region. On Monday, Russia’s defense ministry claimed its forces had seized the village of Olhivske in the Zaporizhzhia region. Vladimir Rogov, a senior Moscow-appointed official in russian-held territories, told Russia’s RIA news agency that Russian troops had broken through Ukrainian defenses, capturing approximately 30 square kilometers (11.5 square miles) of ground.
This advance in Zaporizhzhia coincides with Russia’s continued westward push in the Donetsk region, where the logistics hub of Pokrovsk remains a key strategic objective. According to Ukraine’s military,commander Andriy Kryshchenko stated that Ukrainian troops have managed to halt a Russian advance near Pokrovsk. The DeepState military blog has also reported Ukrainian successes against Russian forces near the town of Dobropillia, located north of Pokrovsk.
