Russian defense “stopped counterattack… 3,715 Ukrainian soldiers killed”

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on the 6th that Russian forces had repelled a counterattack by Ukrainian forces for three days.

Shoigu told the press that Ukrainian forces had “conducted a long and professional offensive on several fronts” over three days, adding that Russian forces had killed or wounded 3,715 Ukrainian soldiers.

“(Ukrainian forces) attempted an attack to block it, and the enemy stopped it,” he said.

Shoigu said Ukrainian forces also suffered losses of 52 tanks and 207 armored vehicles.

Shoigu said 71 Russian soldiers were killed, 210 wounded, and 15 Russian tanks and nine armored vehicles were destroyed in repelling the Ukrainian attack.

Although it is unclear how Russia obtained accurate information about the number of Ukrainian military casualties, Shoigu did not provide any specific basis for his claims.
