Deadly Russian Strike Hits Clinic in Zaporizhzhia, Killing Three
ZAPORIZHZHIA, Ukraine – A Russian missile strike on a private clinic in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia has killed three people and injured 11 others, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration.
The attack, which occurred Tuesday, fully destroyed the clinic, leaving rescue workers sifting through the rubble in search of any additional victims. Two of the injured are medical personnel. The strike comes amid escalating tensions in the region. Russian dictator Vladimir Putin illegally annexed the entire Zaporizhzhia region in the fall of 2022, despite Russian forces controlling only a fraction of the territory at the time.
In mid-November, Ukrainian military officials warned of a russian buildup of troops and military equipment in the area, coupled with intensified airstrikes, signaling a potential offensive on Ukraine’s southern front.
