Russian Tu-22M3 Bomber Crashes Over Stavropol Province: Technical Failure or Missile Strike?

A Tupolev Tu-22M3 supersonic long-range bomber of the Russian Aerospace Forces crashed while flying over the southern border province of Stavropol on the 19th claiming a technical failure this was the first downed by the air defense force.

According to reports from the official Russian media RT and the Ukrainian Independent, immediately after the Russian military raided the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in Ukraine that morning, a Tu-22M3 bomber crashed on its way back to the center after performing a combat mission.

Multiple videos circulating on the Internet show a Tu-22 bomber spinning in the air and falling to the ground, with flames shooting out of its tail. Stavropol Governor Vladimir Vladimirov said four crew members were on board, one dead, two ejected safely, and the last one is still missing.

The Russian Defense Ministry said the bomber is believed to have crashed due to a technical failure and was not carrying ammunition at the time.
