Ryoji Ikeda’s data-cosm [n°1] installation is returning to 180 Studios for a second run from 14 October to 20 December, 2026, due to popular demand. The immersive audiovisual work envelops visitors in vast nature datasets spanning particle physics and astrophysics while they lie beneath a massive LED ceiling.

Expanding on the Data-Verse Trilogy

The installation expands on creative ideas first explored in the artist’s data-verse project, a trilogy that investigated the intersection of art and physics. Commissioned and produced by 180 Studios, data-cosm [n°1] initially premiered at the London venue in October 2025. The Vinyl Factory reported that the exhibition operates as a giant microscope and scientific apparatus, offering visitors a total sensory experience through its detailed soundscapes and visual projections.

Vinyl Release and Longstanding Collaboration

Accompanying the project’s exhibition history, a 17-minute soundtrack for data-cosm [n°1] was pressed on 180-gram heavyweight black vinyl and released on December 15, 2025, limited to 1,000 copies worldwide. The Vinyl Factory noted that the release features artwork by Ryoji Ikeda and mastering by Noel Summerville. This marks the latest collaboration between Ikeda, 180 Studios, and The Vinyl Factory, who previously staged the UK premiere of Ikeda’s supersymmetry installation at Brewer Street Car Park in Soho in 2015, followed by the test pattern exhibition in 2017 and a large-scale European exhibition in 2021.
