Chennai: Kovid (19) has been confirmed by spinner Washington Sundar as part of the Indian squad for the ODI series against South Africa (SA vs IND). Kovinder confirmed to Sunder that the team for the ODI series will return to South Africa today. With this, Sunder may lose the three-match ODI series starting on the 19th.

Sunder is currently in Bengaluru for the 18-man ODI squad for the series against South Africa. It is reported that the BCCI will announce Sunder’s replacement soon. Sundar has been sidelined for a long time due to injury.

Sunder was ruled out of the second quarter of the IPL and the T20 World Cup in the UAE due to a finger injury ahead of the Test series against England. Sunder, who played in last month’s Vijay Hazare Trophy, was brilliant with 16 wickets and 148 runs. This is the reason for his recall to the ODI team.

The first match of the ODI series against South Africa will be played at Bolland Park in Paul on the 19th of this month. The second ODI will be played at the same venue on the 21st. The third ODI will be played in Cape Town on the 23rd.
