SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – Sacramento kings centre Domantas Sabonis will be sidelined at the beginning of the 2025-2026 NBA season due to a hamstring injury, the team announced Saturday.
Injury Details
An MRI revealed Sabonis has a Grade 1 hamstring strain, according to the Kings’ statement. He will be re-evaluated in one week to assess his recovery progress.
The injury occurred during a preseason game against the Los Angeles Clippers on October 15.
Impact on Kings’ Season Opener
Sacramento is scheduled to begin its season on Wednesday night with an away game against the Phoenix Suns. Thier home opener against the Utah Jazz is slated for Friday night.
Additional injury Concerns
sabonis is the second Kings starter to be hampered by injury during the preseason. Forward Keegan Murray underwent surgery on his left thumb and is expected to be out for at least the first few weeks of the season.
