The great artist Salah Abdullah was the guest of Thursday’s episode of the “Sary Ink” program, presented by Asma Ibrahim, and shown throughout the month of Ramadan on the “Cairo Wal Nas” channel.
The artist Salah Abdullah spoke about his artistic projects during the coming period, and his relationship with the stars of the artistic community, in addition to revealing secrets and mysteries for the first time.
Regarding the reason behind his apology for the series “The Crying Laughter” starring the artist Amr Abdel Jalil, he said: “You came in pain. I was not the first and real candidate. The first nomination was for the giant artist Abed Fahd, and then there was criticism even though Naguib Al-Rihani has Syrian origins, and Abed apologized.” After that, many people wrote that the most suitable person, even before Al-Ghaiti, to write the series to embody Najib Al-Rihani is Salah Abdullah, and in fact, Al-Rihani was attacked between 2008 and 2009, and we were going to start filming the problem. We were going to film a month before Ramadan.
He continued, “I wanted Al-Rihani to make something sweet, and he started from outside Egypt in Syria and his tours in Upper Egypt. My external self was external. I wanted something to be done worthy of the name Naguib Al-Rihani, and the project was disrupted. After that, there was a problem between the author and the director, then he went to the producer Sadiq Al-Sabah, and they showed it to me again, and he went to the voice. Cairo and all of this took place over the course of the years 2009 and 2010, until I became extremely tired in 2010.”
Regarding his opinion of the artist Amr Abdel Jalil when he portrayed “Al-Rihani,” he said: “Amr is a genius actor with unparalleled wit and creativity. His role was not good, and the series was also made in difficult circumstances and was not at the level of the dream I was dreaming. Until today, I wish I could work on Al-Rihani. If you ask me if you want to act with me, who will I tell you?” With Naguib Al-Rihani.
