Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong attends 3rd anniversary memorial service for late Chairman Lee Kun-hee

Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong returned to Korea after completing his business trip to the Middle East and attended a simple memorial service for the late Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kun-hee, held on the third anniversary of his death. The ceremony took place at the family memorial in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do on the morning of the 25th.

After the memorial service, Chairman Lee Jae-yong proceeded to the Yongin Human Resource Development Center, where he had lunch with other company presidents. The late Chairman Lee Kun-hee, who suffered a heart attack at his home in Seoul’s Yongsan-gu in 2014, battled illness for 6 years and 5 months before his passing on October 25, 2020.

Former Chairman Lee is widely recognized for his role in establishing Samsung Electronics as a leader in the semiconductor industry. He invested his personal wealth in the company’s semiconductor business in 1974, transforming it from a barren landscape into a success story. His outstanding management acumen and competitive spirit were instrumental in this achievement.
