The MX Cordobés championship encompasses a range of categories, including 50cc, 65cc, 85cc, MX1, MX2, Master, Féminas (Women’s), Aficionados, and Classic bikes, catering to a diverse spectrum of riders and skill levels. The 2026 season builds on the momentum of the 2025 edition, which saw over one hundred riders participate in the provincial circuit. The 2025 calendar included events in Priego de Córdoba, Villanueva de Córdoba, and Almodóvar del Río, with a planned event in another location ultimately cancelled.

The choice of San Francisco as a host city underscores the growing importance of the region in the provincial motocross scene. The Club Tiro y Gimnasia circuit has proven to be a popular and well-regarded venue, capable of accommodating both riders and spectators. The event is expected to provide a boost to the local economy, attracting visitors and generating revenue for local businesses.

The championship’s structure, with events spread throughout the year, allows for a sustained competitive environment and provides riders with ample opportunity to hone their skills and compete for provincial honors. The variety of track layouts – from the hard-packed dirt of Pilar to the potentially more challenging terrain of Embalse de Río Tercero – will test the adaptability and versatility of the riders.

While the focus remains firmly on the provincial level, the MX Cordobés championship serves as a vital stepping stone for aspiring motocross professionals. Success in the provincial series can open doors to regional and national competitions, potentially leading to opportunities in the international arena. The championship’s commitment to inclusivity, with categories for riders of all ages and skill levels, ensures that motocross remains accessible to a wide range of participants.
