Manama: The friendship meet organized by the women’s wing of Friends Manama district under the title ‘Onasmriti’ was amazing. Social activist and author Shemili P. John founded the event. He decided that Ona was a happy occasion for the expatriates to share friendship. Onam is also the recovery of past memories that fill the mind with flowers and blossoms. He said that we can recover such memories through Onam celebrations organized by societies and associations.
Sakina Abbas delivered the felicitation speech at the event held at the Friends Auditorium, Sindh. District Executive Member Rasheeda Zubair, Hema Viswam, Srilata Pankaj and Asha Rajeev spoke. Nima Rajeesh, Azra and Tahiya Farooq have sung the songs. District Secretary Fazila Harris welcomed and Executive Member Bushra Hameed thanked. Razina Akbar and Suada Farooq presided over the program.
