Malappuram: West Bengal won the Santosh Trophy football tournament for the first time. Bengal beat Punjab by an unbeaten margin. Shubham Bhowmick scored for Bengal in the 61st minute.
The official opening of the tournament is this evening. Today is the first match of the host Kerala. Kerala’s rivals are Rajasthan. The match will be played at Mayyanad Stadium at 8 pm. Rajasthan reached Malappuram in the qualifying round by performing miracles. Therefore, if the same performance is repeated, it is certain that the competition for Kerala will be tough.
