Kollam: Saritha S Nair, accused in the solar case, has alleged that an attempt was made to poison her. Poisoning affected the function of the nerves. He is still undergoing treatment in Vellore and Thiruvananthapuram. Treatments include chemotherapy. Saritha said that after the disease is completely cured, it will be revealed who gave the poison. Saritha made the remarks when she appeared in the Kottarakkara court yesterday in connection with the 2015 assault case.

Kozhikode Judicial First Class Magistrate Court has sentenced Saritha S Nair to six years rigorous imprisonment in a solar scam case. Biju Radhakrishnan and Saritha were the main accused in the solar scam, which was first registered in April. The case was registered against Abdul Majeed, a Kozhikode businessman, for allegedly embezzling Rs 42.7 lakh by promising to install a solar panel in his house and office and paying for Team Solar’s franchise.

The verdict came eight years after the case was registered by the Kasaba police in 2013. Judicial First Class Magistrate KK Nimmi Saritha was sentenced to life imprisonment after the prosecution found her guilty of treason, impersonation, embezzlement and forgery.
