MT director Sathyan Anthikad made Mammootty’s act in Vadkan Veeragatha by listening to the dialogues recorded by Vasudevan Nair in his own voice. Sathyan Anthikad spoke about the reason behind Mammootty-Mohanlal staying in the film for forty years while giving a felicitation speech during the puja of Marimayam’s team film ‘Panchayat Jetty’. He said they got to know the stars including Manikadan and Vinod Kovoor by calling and congratulating them. Sathyan Anthikad says that the reason for not doing the second part of the message is because the team is doing all the socially relevant things at the same time. Congratulating the team of Marimayam, Sathyan Anthikad said that they are happy to make it to the film Marimayam and if he goes ahead with self-sacrifice, success is assured.
“When I heard that the Marimayam team was joining the film, I felt very happy. And the team knows I’m a fan of theirs. I have tried to get actors including Manikadan, who acts in it often, to act in the film on a small scale. I called Vinod Kovoor and congratulated him and got to know him. One is often surprised to see their performances. We know every character in it. Sneha is an amazing actor. Even the last episode is amazing. So it’s nice to see such a team entering the film industry a little more actively.
First of all I appreciate the producer Saptharang, the topics chosen by the team and the way they present it often amazes me. Everyone is asking why there is no second part to the message. It has been 32 years since the message came down. But the team does that duty. By the time Srinivasan and I thought we should analyze social issues and make a film, they would have done it. Behind every success is a strong dedication. Manikadan and Salim know that every episode and every film has to be carried forward as if it were the first. Behind every success is hard work.
I told them who came to invite me that Mammootty and Mohanlal are still here after forty years because of their passion and sincerity towards cinema. I will tell you because Mammootty is not here now. Mammootty and I were traveling from Ernakulam to Thrissur before the start of the film ‘Vadakan Veeragatha’. It’s night. As I was about to call a taxi, Pulli said, “I’m going that way and I’ll drop you off.” As we were both going in the car, Pulli said, “I am going to act in MT’s new film. It is a bit difficult. The character is Chanthu. I went to Kozhikode and recorded my entire part with Pulli. Then I gave it on cassette. I listen to it and learn it when I travel. MT dialogues are like ‘Irumbani hiti mulayani..’
So all these people have become great people through such silent studies. I know everyone at Marimayam is trying hard. May this film be a great success. I wish this movie will be a big wave in Malayalam.”- said Sathyan Anthikad.
