Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has announced that it will grant a general amnesty to those in various prisons with the beginning of the month of Ramzan. King Salman ordered the amnesty. The Directorate General of Prisons has started the process to identify and release those who are eligible for amnesty among those in prison.

Those eligible for amnesty will be identified and released in the coming days. This will include natives and foreigners. Saudi Arabia follows a practice of granting public amnesty to deserving prisoners every year at the beginning of Ramadan.
