Saudi Crown Prince Announces $100 Million Development Project in Africa

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – In a landmark announcement at the Saudi-African summit in Riyadh, Crown Prince Amir Mohammed bin Salman unveiled a bold plan to invest $100 million in a decade-long development project in African countries. Under the auspices of King Salman, the massive development plan aims to enhance cooperation and foster stronger relations with African nations.

The Crown Prince reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to elevating collaboration with African countries across various levels, with the ultimate goal of promoting security and peace in the region and beyond.

Expanded Investment and Diplomatic Presence

At the summit, the African heads of state engaged in discussions with the Saudi Crown Prince, where it was revealed that Saudi Arabia is set to invest over $25 billion in diverse sectors in Africa. Additionally, the kingdom will allocate $10 billion for financing and export insurance, and an additional $5 billion in development funding until 2030.

The Crown Prince also outlined plans to expand Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic presence in Africa, with the number of Saudi embassies on the continent increasing to 40. Notably, the kingdom has already provided $4.5 billion to support development and humanitarian projects in 54 African countries.

Commitment to African Development and Peace

Emir Mohammed bin Salman also reiterated Saudi Arabia’s dedication to supporting innovative solutions to address the debt burden of African countries. He underscored the importance of empowering these nations to harness their own resources and capabilities.

Furthermore, the Crown Prince condemned the military attacks on civilians in the Gaza Strip, calling for an immediate halt to the ongoing violations by Israeli occupiers against international humanitarian law.

Hosting World Expo 2030

As a testament to Saudi Arabia’s forward-looking vision, the Crown Prince announced aspirations to host the World Expo 2030 in Riyadh. He emphasized that the Expo’s edition in Saudi Arabia would be unprecedented and incredible, contributing to shaping the future.

He also said that the aim of this commitment is to contribute to the establishment of security and peace in the region and around the world.

Apart from this, Saudi Arabia has plans to invest more than 25 billion dollars in different sectors in Africa. Saudi Arabia will provide 10 billion dollars in financing and insurance for exports from there. The Crown Prince also said that five billion dollars in additional development funding will be provided to Africa until 2030.

He also explained Saudi Arabia’s plan to expand its diplomatic presence in Africa. The number of Saudi embassies on the mainland has increased to 40. The Crown Prince also said that Saudi Arabia has so far provided $4.5 billion to support development and humanitarian projects in 54 African countries. He added that Saudi Arabia dedicatedly supports the most innovative solutions to solve the debt of African countries and that the respective countries have the right to develop their own resources and capabilities and stand around it.
