Saudi-Iran Agreement to Restore Diplomatic Relations; Embassies to reopen Iran and Saudi Arabia agree to restore relations

Saudi Arabia and Iran have agreed to restore diplomatic relations. Saudi-Iranian media reported that it was decided to open embassies within two months. The two countries reached an agreement in this regard after the discussion held in Beijing, the capital of China.

As a result of the talks, Iran and Saudi Arabia have agreed to restore diplomatic relations and reopen embassies within two months, the Iranian news agency IRNA reported. According to an Iranian state television report, the foreign ministers of the two countries will meet directly and decide on the appointment of ambassadors.

The Saudi Press Agency has also confirmed the news. The Saudi Press Agency said that the two countries have agreed to respect the country’s sovereignty and not to interfere in each other’s internal affairs. In addition, the two countries agreed to implement the security cooperation agreement signed in 2001.

In 2016, Saudi Arabia cut diplomatic ties with Iran after an attack on Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic office in Iran. The two countries have been in talks for a long time to restore relations. The normalization of relations between Tehran and Riyadh will have a major impact on political relations in the Middle East.
