Brooklyn, N.Y. – Cardi B ignited the stage at LadyLand Festival early Saturday, delivering a dynamic performance for a crowd celebrating New York City Pride. The Bronx-raised rapper’s appearance underscored her strong connection with the LGBTQ community.
Before Cardi B took the stage at Under the K Bridge Park in Greenpoint,Scarlet Envy,of RuPaul’s Drag Race fame,revved up the crowd. envy’s introduction played on her iconic “I’m the drama” quote, a well-known meme within the LGBTQ community, setting the stage for Cardi B’s headlining set.
“Happy Pride New York City!” Scarlet Envy exclaimed, sporting a shimmering red outfit. “My name is Scarlet Envy: I’m the drama! I’m blessed to introduce this performer to you. She’s an icon, she a legend and she’s a hometown hero.”
