‘School violence controversy’ Lee Jae-young and Da-young twin sisters, virtually confirmed to enter Greece

The twin sisters Lee Jae-young and Da-young Lee, who caused a stir for the ‘school violence controversy’, have finally made their way to the Greek stage.

The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) is expected to issue the International Transfer Agreement (ITC) ex officio for the twin sisters Lee Jae-young and Da-young Lee, who are aiming to advance overseas.

In an official letter sent to the Korea Volleyball Association on the 28th, the International Volleyball Federation announced that the transfer fee of 10,350 Swiss francs, which was offered by the Greek PAOK Thessaloniki club, was judged to be an appropriate level of about 13.23 million won in Korean money.

In addition, it was instructed to send the association’s account information to the PAOK club by tomorrow (29th) 7:00 pm our time so that the volleyball association can receive money in the form of an ITC-approved fee. He added that if the account number is not sent by the deadline, FIVB will approve the international transfer of the twin sisters. The decision was final and not subject to appeal.

In response, the Volleyball Association said today (28th) that it cannot issue ITCs for twin sisters based on its own regulations on international transfers of players that stipulate restrictions on the qualifications of domestic players to advance abroad, and they do not receive transfer fees related to ITC issuance. We re-informed that there is no change in our position that we will not. Same as the reply on the 24th.

As the League of Nations announced that it was planning to approve the international transfer of the twin sisters, and the Volleyball Association finally confirmed the firm intention to reject the ITC, it is expected to approve the issuance of the ITC ex officio.

Sisters Lee Jae-young and Da-young Lee, who were engulfed in ‘controversy over sexual assault’ in middle school, were excluded from the list of players on hold for 2021-2022 of the women’s professional volleyball team Heungkuk Life Insurance, which made it difficult for them to play in Korea.
