‘Season 4 goal’ Hwang Ui-jo, an ankle sprain, opaque to Lorient

[마이데일리 = 김종국 기자] Hwang Ui-jo scored his fourth league goal this season, showing off his goal sense, but suffered an ankle injury.

Hwang Ui-Jo scored the opening goal in the 17th minute of the second half while starting in the 10th round of French Ligue 1 of the 2021-22 season against Nantes held in Bordeaux, France on the 17th (Korean time). Afterwards, Hwang Eui-jo suffered an ankle injury in the 28th minute of the second half and was replaced by Niang.

French media Sudwest reported on the 18th that ‘Hwang Ui-jo suffered an ankle sprain’ and ‘It is uncertain whether he will play in the away game against Lorient on the 24th.’ Hwang Ui-jo had a hard time getting out of the stadium with the support of medical staff when he was substituted out against Nantes.

Afterwards, Hwang Ui-jo scored his fourth league goal this season with a unique sharp right-footed shot from the left edge of the penalty area in the 17th minute of the second half. Hwang Ui-jo resumed scoring after 3 games after the 7th round against Montpellier last month. Hwang’s goal against Nantes was also selected as one of the top 5 best goals in the 10th round by the French Ligue 1 Secretariat.

Bordeaux are in 17th place with a record of 1 win, 5 draws and 4 losses (8 points) with 4 consecutive draws in French Ligue 1 this season. The gap with the 18th-placed Mets (6 points) in the relegation zone is only two points, and Bordeaux may have to play an away game at Lorient in the absence of key striker Hwang Ui-Jo.
