A suspect remains at large after a woman was critically wounded in what police described as a random stabbing attack on a popular trail in an affluent Seattle-area suburb.
The broad-daylight attack happened Saturday morning on Bear Creek Trail near Redmond Town Center, a heavily used recreational area, prompting police to warn the public that the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
Officers responded around 10:45 a.m. after a bystander called 911 to report “a woman down on the trail,” Redmond Police Chief Darrell Lowe said. investigators believe the attack occurred just minutes before the call, and officers arrived on scene within two minutes.
Police found a 50-year-old woman suffering from what appeared to be multiple stab wounds and promptly rendered aid before she was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.

The Redmond Police department responded to reports of an assault in the 16200 block of Northeast 72nd Way at approximately 11:30 AM PST. Upon arrival,officers discovered multiple victims suffering from stab wounds. The attacks appeared to be random, occurring near a wooded trail.
Victim Information
as of 3:00 PM PST on January 28, 2026, three individuals were confirmed injured. one victim, a 68-year-old male, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The other two victims, a 45-year-old female and a 22-year-old male, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at local hospitals. The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of family.
Suspect Description
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6’0″ tall, with a medium build and dark hair. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket and jeans. Police have not released any information regarding a potential motive.
Public Safety Warning
The Redmond Police Department is urging the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the suspect to 911 immediately. Residents and workers in the area are understandably shaken by the incident. The department stated, “We understand the community is concerned, and we are dedicating all available resources to apprehending this individual.”
