Sending Kashmir files to Oscars will embarrass India – Dylan Mohan Gray

Director Dylan Mohan Gray has criticized Vivek Agnihotri’s Kashmir Files. In his reply to Vivek Agnihotri, he stated that he hoped the film would not be sent to the Oscars.

The controversies started with director Anurag Kashyap’s comments in an interview related to the promotion of the film Dobara. Kashyap said that Rajamouli’s RRR would be considered for an Oscar nomination and that he hoped that Kashmir Files would not be selected. Vivek Agnihotri came out publicly against this. Vivek Agnihotri wrote that the Bollywood lobby, which ignores the carnage, has started propaganda against his film. Dylan Mohan Gray was responding to this debate.

Actually this (Kashmir files) is hate mongering rubbish. There is nothing artistic about it. If the ‘impartial’ board chooses him (for an Oscar nomination), he will embarrass India. Anurag Kashyap is trying to protect the rest of the country’s reputation – Dylan Mohangrey pointed out.

The Kashmir Files, based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, was released on March 11. The film made with an investment of 15 crores earned 340 crores. Kashmir Files is a film that ran into controversy even before its release.
