Senior actor Yoon Yang-ha dies – The Kyunghyang Shinmun

Senior actress Yoon Yang-ha passed away on the 4th (local time) at her home in Virginia, USA. 81 years old.

Born in Sunchang, Jeollabuk-do in 1940, the deceased worked as a wrestler and judo athlete. After being eliminated from the national selection for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, he went to Chungmuro ​​Korean Actor Academy to develop his dream of becoming an actor. It was at this time that he formed a relationship with director Kim Soo-yong and made his debut in the film industry. Director Kim gave the stage name ‘Good river’, that is, Yangha (良河), meaning “the emotions of an actor should flow like a good river that never runs dry.”

He did not give up his passion for judo, and served as the vice president of the Korean Judo Association in the mid-1990s, and served as the leader of the judo team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

Survivors include his wife Seo Seong-mi and his sons Yoon Tae-woong and Se-woong. The funeral will be held on the 13th (local time) at the ‘Church Together’ in Centerville, Virginia, with actors Dae-Geun Lee, Gu-Soon Lee, and Mi-Kyung Won attending.
