Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Lucknow Super Giants in 10 overs in a life and death contest to keep their playoff chances alive. The match was held at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad.
Travis Head’s 16-ball fifty and Abhishek Sharma’s 19-over fifty made Sunrisers’ bid of 166 a joke and handed Lucknow one of the heaviest defeats in IPL history.
167 runs in 9.4 overs is also the highest score in the first 10 overs of an IPL match. Sunrisers’ win in 62 balls is also an IPL record for the most balls to spare while chasing a total of over 100.
