Prosecutors, who were investigating the so-called ‘indictment fraud’ at the time of Yoon Seok-yeol’s tenure as former Prosecutor General, began to secure evidence.

According to the legal community on the 17th, the 1st Public Investigation Division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office (Chief Chang-min Choi) presented a search and seizure warrant to the Inspection Department of the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office the day before and was arbitrarily submitted to the facts of the investigation into the accusation.

The Central Prosecutor’s Office is known to have received it through a separate warrant as the fact-finding investigation of the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office has not yet been converted into an investigation.

It is known that among the fact-finding data secured by the investigation team of the Central Prosecutors’ Office, the ‘informant’ Seong-eun Seong visited the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office on the 3rd and submitted data from a cell phone and USB memory.

It is also said that the investigation team of the Central Prosecutor’s Office summoned Cho twice during forensic analysis of this material and asked him to observe it.

The investigation team was recently dispatched by two prosecutors from the Anti-Corruption and Violence Department and the Public Investigation Department who participated in the fact-finding investigation by the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office. It is reported that these prosecutors will return to the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office as soon as the transfer of duties is completed.

The investigation team of the Central District Prosecutors’ Office, which started the investigation late, is expected to gain momentum in the investigation as it receives the facts of the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office.
