Seoul National University’s competition rate in rolling admissions for the 2024 academic year was 8.84 to 1, up from 6.86 to 1 last year. Korea University’s ranking fell from last year.

According to Jongno Academy on the 13th, 19,279 people applied for 2,181 students for Seoul National University’s regular recruitment for the 2024 school year, showing a higher competition rate than last year. Last year, 14,107 people applied for 2,056 positions.

The competition rate for Seoul National University’s Department of Pre-Medicine was 12.30 to 1, which was higher than last year’s final competition rate (10.49 to 1). The competition rate for the Department of Advanced Convergence at Seoul National University, which will be newly established for the 2024 school year, was 10.00 to 1.

Jongno Academy analyzed this as a result of many students with excellent academic records applying to Seoul National University among students enrolled in major top universities. In addition, it is estimated that applications have increased due to expectations following Seoul National University’s relaxation of the examination criteria, such as abolishing the mandatory CSAT Science Inquiry Ⅱ examination requirement in rolling admissions this year.

The competition rate for regular admissions at Korea University, which closed the application process on this day, was 12.92 to 1. It fell slightly from 14.09 to 1 last year.
