Sharjah/Dubai/Abu Dhabi ∙ Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in some parts of the UAE this week. The National Meteorological Center (NMC) said that storms are also likely to occur in some parts of the country from Wednesday night to Thursday night. Meanwhile, Sharjah and some other parts of the country are experiencing light rain today (Monday). Heavy rain was reported in some parts of Dubai including Saih Al Salam yesterday (Sunday) and light rain in Al Ain.
Scattered areas of the country will experience moderate to heavy rain this week. Hail showers are also possible in some places. The official WAM news agency said rain will spread to most of the country on Thursday, starting from the west on Wednesday night, with winds of up to 65 kilometers per hour on Thursday. Rain was forecast for the first days of last week but not much. But the worst weather is expected to arrive on Thursday.

According to the Windy weather app, Abu Dhabi will experience heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms from 7 am on May 2. Tomorrow will be the highest temperature of the week in the capital. It is expected to reach 38 degrees Celsius in the afternoon. Thunder and lightning are expected to reach Dubai between 10 am and 4 pm on Thursday. A yellow warning has been issued in areas including Dubai and Fujairah until 8 pm tonight. News of the heavy rain comes as the UAE recovers from the April 16 floods.
