One Person Dies in Bus and Car Collision North of Tūrangi

One person has died following a collision between a bus and a car on State Highway 1, just north of Tūrangi this afternoon, March 8, 2026.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) responded to the crash near Rawhira Road shortly after 1:00 PM today. Two crews from Taupō and one from Tūrangi were dispatched to the scene, according to a FENZ spokesperson.
