Shaping Global Citizens: How the Peace Museum Revolutionizes International Law Education
Purpose of the event
The Ritsumeikan University International Peace Museum will be co-sponsoring an event like the one attached with the International Law Education CoLab. Colab management, Associate Professor Moe Ochi (Ritsumeikan University), and museum staff will talk about the role of peace museums in international law education. Today, as the world faces large-scale wars and human rights violations, the need for wider recognition of international law is recognized. However, traditional peace education is also called “peace education based on fear,” which conveys the horrors of war. . However, in order to gain “learning” and bring about change in society, how can such exhibits be effectively combined with international law education? We would be happy if you could remember the peace museums you have visited and give us your thoughts on whether it would be nice to have an exhibit like this.
