Sheikh Hasina congratulated by Swiss President and Prime Minister of Denmark

Swiss Confederation President Viola Amhardt and Danish Prime Minister Mette Federiksen congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her re-election as Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

In a congratulatory letter sent to Sheikh Hasina, the Swiss President said, ‘On behalf of the Swiss Federal Council, I congratulate you on your re-election as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. Wishing you success in fulfilling your important mandate.’

He further said, ‘I would also like to convey my best wishes for the well-being and prosperity of your country and people.’

The Swiss President said, ‘In the context of our global challenges, I am convinced that our commitment to important values ​​such as respect for international law, the rule of law, multilateralism and the universal principles enshrined in the UN Charter remain our best compass in striving towards a world of peace and prosperity.’

The President of Switzerland said, ‘I am confident that the excellent relations between our two countries and the bonds of friendship that bind Switzerland and Bangladesh will continue to deepen in the future.’

In another message, Danish Prime Minister Mette Federiksen said, ‘I extend my warmest congratulations to you for being re-elected as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.’

Referring to the pleasure of meeting Sheikh Hasina in New York in September, he said, “I am very encouraged by our discussions on green transition and your commitment to combat climate change.”

Mette Federiksen said, ‘Denmark stands by the people of Bangladesh and continues to invest in the country’s social, economic and democratic development. I hope your new term will usher in a new era of progress, equality, strong democracy and protection of fundamental freedoms.’

He reiterated, ‘My Government is committed to working with the Government of Bangladesh to advance our country’s mutual interests and achieve new heights of success together in sustainable growth and beyond.’
