Seventeen Injured in Shenzhen Bay Bridge Tour Bus Collision

Sunday, February 15, 2026 – A collision involving two tour buses on the Shenzhen Bay Bridge left seventeen people injured, according to reports. The incident occurred on the bridge heading towards Tuen Mun.

Hong Kong police have arrested the driver of one of the buses following the crash. Initial investigations suggest the bus ran into railings at approximately 1:50 PM on Sunday. The driver is reportedly being investigated for dangerous driving.

Emergency services responded to the scene and confirmed that ten men and seven women sustained minor injuries. All seventeen passengers were transported to hospitals in Tin Shui Wai and Tuen Mun for treatment.

Traffic on the Tuen Mun-bound lanes of the bridge was temporarily disrupted following the accident, but lanes reopened around 5:00 PM on Sunday.

According to reports from Hong Kong 01, the driver of the bus involved may have been motivated by financial difficulties and health concerns. The report suggests the driver was facing debt and experiencing health problems, potentially contributing to a deliberate act.

The incident is currently being investigated by authorities. Now 新聞 reported that the bus appeared to have lost control before impacting the railings. 香港文匯網 also reported the incident, confirming the initial reports of seventeen injuries.

The South China Morning Post reported that the arrested driver is facing charges related to dangerous driving. The incident highlights the risks associated with cross-border transportation and the importance of driver safety.

The Hong Kong Economic Journal reported that the incident occurred on the Shenzhen Bay Bridge, a major transportation link between Hong Kong and mainland China. The bridge is frequently used by tour buses and other vehicles traveling between the two regions.

The Hong Kong Radio Television Hong Kong reported that the collision involved two tour buses, but details regarding the second bus and its involvement in the incident remain limited.
