Platoon One Films Ventures into Odia Cinema with ‘Bindusagar’

Platoon One Films, known for self-reliant Indian cinema, is entering the Odia film industry with “Bindusagar,” a family drama.Abhishek Swain directs the film,which centers on a young woman reconnecting with her heritage. The movie features Prakruti Mishra, recognized for “Hello Arsi,” and Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, from the National Award-winning film “Daman.”
Set in Bhubaneswar, the film follows a young woman’s journey to discover her roots, intersecting with a grieving father’s search for faith. “Bindusagar” aims to connect with audiences both in india and abroad, having been filmed in Odisha and London. The film highlights the vibrant regional industry and its potential for global reach.

“Odisha’s producing some fantastic content in recent times, however it’s still underexposed to the audiences across the world. The Odia film industry is on the verge of breaking out, and we want to be one of the early movers when that happens,” producer Shiladitya bora said.
Abhishek Swain expressed enthusiasm about Platoon One’s entry into Odia cinema. He believes their understanding of local content and distribution capabilities could make “Bindusagar” a globally recognized odia film. Swain said he is excited about sharing their film, culture, and music with a worldwide audience.
