Shin Yu-bin (17, Korean Air), who emerged as a table tennis star through the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, lost in the first match against Jeon Ji-hee (29, POSCO Energy), who played with the national team.

Shin Yu-bin lost to Jeon Ji-hee 1-3 (3-11 6-11 11-2 13-15) in the women’s singles quarterfinals of the corporate division on the fourth day of the business competition for the 2021 spring president season held at Inje Multipurpose Stadium in Gangwon-do on the 9th.

This is the first time the two players have faced each other on the domestic business stage. At the World Table Tennis (WTT) Contender held in Qatar last year, Jeon Ji-hee won 3-1.

Shin Yu-bin tried to humiliate the defeat at the time, but she could not overcome Jeon Ji-hee’s wall, and her record against Jeon Ji-hee was two losses in two matches.

From the beginning of the match, Jeon Ji-hee dominated Shin Yu-bin. Shin Yu-bin, shaken by Jeon Ji-hee’s aggressive play, gave up the first set by a 3-11 big score difference and only got 6 points in the second set.

Shin Yubin tried to reverse the game with 11-2 in the 3rd set, which Jeon Ji-hee had been slowing down for a while, but was defeated after 4 deuce battles in the 4th set, giving Jeon Ji-hee the victory.

Meanwhile, Shin Yu-bin and Jeon Ji-hee will meet again in the national team after this confrontation. Jeon Ji-hee and Shin Yu-bin, who played in doubles in the Tokyo Olympic team event, form a doubles team again to compete at the Asian Championships this month and the World Championships in November.
