[딜사이트 조은지 기자] Fashion company Shinwon will end operation of its online mall, ‘Showwindo.’ The company previously expanded its online business as non-face-to-face shopping became active during the COVID-19 pandemic, but recently announced that it will terminate the service due to the intensification of the e-commerce market and to improve management efficiency. However, rather than discontinuing the entire online mall, Shinwon plans to use the ‘Naver Brand Store’ to select and focus.

According to the industry on the 11th, Shinwon, a fashion company, announced the termination of its official online shopping mall, ‘Showwindo’ service. Operations will end on the 6th of next month, and work has begun to gradually terminate the service.

Showwindo is the official online shopping platform created by Shinwon in 2020. At that time, the shopping industry was rushing to enter the online market as non-face-to-face, untact shopping became active after the COVID-19 pandemic, and Shinwon also joined the competition by opening its own mall.

However, Shinwon explained that it has decided to close its online mall as it has had difficulty securing profitability due to intensifying competition in the online commerce market since the COVID-19 pandemic. Shinwon plans to change its strategy from a platform business to an individual brand mall considering the selection, concentration, and efficiency of limited resources.

Furthermore, as the number of customers flowing into the Naver Store rather than its own mall has recently increased, Shinwon plans to utilize the unique identity of each brand and expand consumer contact points with the Naver Smart Store.

A Shinwon official said, “We are not completely discontinuing online services. We are only shutting down our own mall, ‘Show Window,'” and added, “We plan to convert the five brands owned by Shinwon into Naver Stores.”
