A 13-year-old girl from Kui Buri District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, was gang-raped by a group of 5 young men in the area of Sam Roi Yot District. The incident occurred on September 19, 2024.
The victim testified that a senior monk, who is the 78-year-old abbot of Kui Buri district, had a deep relationship with her. However, the abbot denied all allegations and asked for bail at the level of investigation officer.
Major General Chamlong Ngamnet, commander of the Prachuap Khiri Khan provincial police, revealed that this case is linked to 4 locations, with 9 suspects, 7 have surrendered and 2 are still on the run.
The Prachuap Khiri Khan provincial police special operations unit and dozens of health volunteers from Kui Buri district are on hand to maintain order and prevent chaos.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Chamlong Ngamnet gave an interview to reporters about the progress in this case, stating that officials have received 4 complaints and are currently collecting evidence.
The charges reported include sexual assault on a child under 15 years of age and removing a child under 15 years of age from his or her parents or guardians.
