Shocking Family Secret: Politician Reveals Dark Truth About Aunt’s Hidden Past
Former Japanese Environment Minister Shinjiro Koizumi Reveals Family History
Shinjiro Koizumi, former Japanese Environment Minister and son of former Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, has revealed his family history in a recent speech.
According to Japanese media reports, Koizumi met his biological mother for the first time this year while presenting his candidacy in Tokyo headquarters of the Liberal Democratic Party. He said, “My parents divorced when I was young, but I didn’t know about the divorce until I was in my second year of middle school, and the person I thought was my mother was my aunt (former Prime Minister Koizumi’s older sister).”
He added, “I thought my only sibling was my older brother (actor Kotaro Koizumi), but I had an extra younger sibling, a college student, and I was surprised to see that he looked exactly like my father.”
Koizumi’s affectionate feelings for his aunt were also highlighted. He said, “I didn’t want to meet the mother who gave birth to me,” and “I thought that if I did, I would be betraying my aunt who raised me instead of my biological mother.”
However, his thoughts changed after he got married, had a child, and became a father. He married broadcaster Christel Takigawa in 2019 and had his eldest son the following year.
He said, “I met my mother for the first time this year, and although I won’t go into detail, it was nice to meet her. I haven’t seen her (my biological mother) for 43 years and our last names are different, but family is still family.” He added, “Having lived that kind of life, I support the tolerant and inclusive conservative party. I want to create the Liberal Democratic Party,” he emphasized.
Former Environment Minister Koizumi, who was born in 1981, is the youngest of the nine candidates currently running for Prime Minister of Japan and is popular with the public for his handsome appearance. He is a fourth-generation hereditary politician, starting with his great-grandfather.
He is currently competing for first or second place with former Liberal Democratic Party general secretary Shigeru Ishiba in a public opinion poll asking which candidate is suitable for prime minister, with an approval rating in the 20% range. If he is elected prime minister this time, he will break the record of Ito Hirobumi, who became prime minister at the age of 44, and become the youngest prime minister ever.
Meanwhile, in Korea, he is famous for his statement ‘Fun Cool Sex’. Former Environment Minister Koizumi became controversial when he said at the United Nations Climate Action Summit he attended immediately after taking office in September 2019, “The issue of climate change must be dealt with in a fun, cool, and sexy way.”
