Han So-hee’s Mother Arrested for Running Illegal Gambling Houses

South Korean actress Han So-hee’s mother, Ms. Shin, has been arrested for allegedly operating multiple illegal gambling houses.

According to reports, Ms. Shin ran 12 illegal gambling dens in Ulsan and other locations from 2021 to last month. She has been fined previously for the same offense and has been booked several times for fraud and other charges.

Previous Controversies Surrounding Han So-hee’s Family

In 2020, Han So-hee’s family was involved in a controversy surrounding her mother’s alleged disappearance of money. Han So-hee’s side released a statement at the time, explaining that she was raised by her grandmother and had limited contact with her mother.

Han So-hee stated that she learned about her mother’s debt after she turned 20 and had paid off the debt as best she could before her debut.

Agency Responds to Recent Controversy

When a similar controversy arose in 2022, Han So-hee’s agency, 9Ato Entertainment, released a statement explaining that Han So-hee’s mother had used her daughter’s name to borrow money without her knowledge.

The agency stated that Han So-hee has no plans to take responsibility for the related debt and is working to prevent her mother from using her name to borrow money in the future.
