The second game of a four-game series between the Dodgers and the Diamondbacks was held at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, and the Dodgers were defeated by the Diamondbacks, 14-3.
Shohei Otani (30) started as the leadoff hitter and designated hitter. 4 at-bats, no hits, 3 strikeouts, batting average .291
The Dodgers’ starting pitcher is Wroblewski, who was promoted to the majors this year and will be pitching in his sixth game today.
Although he walked one batter in the first inning, he finished the inning with no hits, but in the second inning he faced a total of 11 batters and gave up eight runs.
However, with their pitching situation struggling, the Dodgers kept Wroblewski in the game, and he ended up giving up 10 runs in 5 1/3 innings.
The Dodgers then gave up two more runs despite Grove’s pitching, and in the eighth inning first baseman Kiké Hernández took to the mound for his third time this season.
Depending on how you look at it, you could say that this was a day to conserve the bullpen, but it still resulted in a big loss of 14-3.
Shohei Ohtani also failed to show his strengths, going hitless in four at-bats with three strikeouts.
Although it was his turn to bat in the ninth inning, he was replaced by Rojas at first base in the bottom of the eighth inning, as first baseman Kiké Hernández was to play as pitcher.
