Shuri Brings the Heat as a Feisty New Lawyer in ‘Monster’ – But It’s Jesse’s Hilarious ‘Eh?’ Moment That Steals the Show
Fuji TV Drama Live 2024 Autumn: Star-Studded Casts Unite
The production announcement press conference for “Fuji TV Drama Live 2024 Autumn” was held on September 20th at Fuji TV’s Wangan Studio in Tokyo, bringing together the star-studded casts of Fuji TV’s seven dramas for October.
In the drama “Monster” (Mondays at 10:00pm, starting October 14th), Shuri will star in her first primetime drama series. She plays a rookie lawyer who is not swayed by emotions and takes on court battles as if it were a game. Shuri appears with her co-stars Otozuki Kei and Nakagawa Tsubasa, wearing a lawyer’s badge on her collar. ”It’s a mysterious and elusive role. I’m playing it while thinking about how difficult it is to strike a balance,” she explained.
A highlight of the show is the “eh?” line uttered by Jesse of SixTONES, who plays an elite lawyer who graduated from Tokyo University. The “eh?” is repeated in various scenes, and Shuri introduced it as “a drama where Jesse is just thrown around by the nose.” Otozuki revealed that “there is a lot of variation, and his voice comes out of amazing places.” When asked about Jesse’s behavior on set, she answered, “He throws in some pun-like things,” and ”But it’s so relaxing.”
Nakagawa, who appeared with silver hair, said that he had not yet met Jesse on set. When he said, “I’m looking forward to it,” he was given some advice, saying, “Even if it’s not funny, just smile wryly.” Otozuki said that the set was “too cozy and relaxing, so I get sleepy,” drawing laughter.
