The family of Simona Cinà, a 20-year-old woman who died after attending a graduation party in Bagheria, Sicily, is urgently seeking clarity surrounding her death, expressing deep concern over inconsistencies and unanswered questions. Parents Giusy and Luciano Cinà, along with Simona’s siblings, roberta and Gabriele, are pleading for a thorough examination into the events of that night.
A Night of Unanswered Questions
“To know why she died, I want to know what happened,” repeats Giusy, reflecting the family’s desperate need for closure. Luciano Cinà echoes this sentiment, stating, “I want to clarify her end.” The family’s grief is compounded by a series of puzzling details emerging from the party, held at a villa with a swimming pool.
According to the parents, crucial elements are missing from the narrative. “There were only bottles of water, the swimming pool was clean, nobody warned us, it was my wife who called for news about my daughter. Where did the alcohol end up?” Luciano Cinà questioned, visibly distraught. He emphasized Simona’s athleticism, stating, “Simona was a sportsman, she was a fish in the water. We want to know what happened.”
Discrepancies and Missing Evidence
Simona’s siblings, twin Roberta and brother Gabriele, also highlight inconsistencies. “It was a degree party - they say - but we didn’t see the cake, we didn’t find any alcohol. When we arrived the boys were all wet, in silence. we didn’t find my sister’s clothes, only her shoes,” Roberta explained. Simona was reportedly found by the pool wearing only a bikini.
The family stresses they aren’t assigning blame but believe something is amiss. “We don’t want to point the finger at anyone,we don’t want to jump to conclusions, but surely there is something wrong. We knew Simona, and it was not like her to drown in the pool. She surfed, she did many water sports – its unfeasible she couldn’t have managed a situation in deep water,” Gabriele added.
Investigation focuses on a Critical Timespan
The Carabinieri of Bagheria are currently focusing on a 50-minute window between 3:20 AM and 4:10 AM – the time Simona was last seen dancing near the DJ console and the time the emergency call was made. Investigators are meticulously reviewing video footage from the party.
The family lawyer, giambrone, points to ”oddities” in the available videos. “There are very few images of the party itself, no footage of the cake or any real celebration. It’s strange, isn’t it?” Roberta Cinà revealed they have only received two videos from close friends, raising concerns about missing footage.
Ominous pre-Party Message and Drug Speculation
Approximately 80 people were invited to the graduation party via WhatsApp, with attendees asked to contribute financially for an open bar. A message sent with the invitation now carries a chilling weight: “There will also be a swimming pool at the villa! If at the end of the evening someone is too drunk and by chance falls into the pool, consider the idea of bringing a costume in the car.”
While speculation about drug use has surfaced,Simona’s family firmly dismisses the possibility. “We asked ourselves, we thought that maybe someone put something in our sister’s glass,” they admitted, but quickly added, “We are sure that Simona would never have taken something voluntarily. She was healthy, she had regular medical check-ups, and the sports teams she played for always required medical certificates.”
The investigation continues as the family seeks answers and justice for Simona.
