Singer Sean successfully completed the 81.5km commemoration of the 8/15 Liberation Day… Donation of KRW 800 million

Singer Sean successfully completed the ‘2021 Virtual 815 Run’ (81.5km) held on the occasion of Liberation Day on August 15, and delivered about 800 million won in donations.

‘2021 Virtual 815 Run’, hosted by Sean and Habitat Korea for the second time following last year, is a non-face-to-face donation marathon that runs a certain distance for the descendants of independence fighters at the time and place desired by the participants on the day of Liberation Day.

In the campaign to convey the positive message of ‘It will be fine, Korea’, despite the hot weather, Sean shortened the record last year by about 8 minutes, completing the 81.5km in a total of 7 hours 50 minutes 56 seconds.

Sean and 30 Pacers were divided into groups of 4 and ran while observing social distancing and quarantine rules. As pacers, former national soccer players Lee Young-pyo and Cho Won-hee, national sprinter Ho-jun Jang, Olympic modern pentathlon bronze medalist Ung-tae Jeon, women’s marathon national team Ahn Seul-gi, former national cycle national Hyo-seok Gong, women’s curling national team Kim Eun-ji, and triathlon Korea Champion Oh Young-hwan, Trail Running Domestic Ranking No. 1 Ji-seop Kim, Disabled Taekwondo National Representative Kim Hwang-tae, Running Influencer Run So-young, Exercising Announcer Ji-hye Park, Running Evangelist Ahn Jung-eun, Singers and Actors Choi Si-won and Im Si-wan were together.

The donation of about 800 million won will be used to improve the living environment of the descendants of independence fighters.

Sean said, “The 3,000 runners and sponsoring companies from all over the country who jumped in their respective places made Liberation Day more meaningful. We were able to express our gratitude to the many independence fighters and their descendants who have made us what we are today. When we are together, nothing is impossible.”

Meanwhile, in last year’s Virtual Run, 24 companies, 45 pacers, and 3,000 runners participated and raised about 320 million won.
