SiR is gearing up for a meaningful performance, expressing his excitement for the massive crowd and the opportunity to connect with his largest audience to date. The R&B artist, known for his smooth vocals and introspective lyrics, shared his anticipation for the show, highlighting the energy of performing in a 17,000-capacity venue and the positive ticket sales.
A Fan’s Admiration for Leon Thomas
The conversation also turned to fellow artist Leon Thomas, whom SiR has yet to meet but deeply admires. SiR revealed his long-standing respect for Thomas, especially his background as a songwriter before stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist.
“Leon Thomas was a songwriter before he started putting music out on his own,” sir explained. “Of course, everyone knows him from his acting days, but he was a part of a writing group that is based in L.A. and has been writing songs for other artists, so to see him come to the forefront of his own artistry is a stunning thing.”
SiR expressed his desire to collaborate with Thomas, noting that he’s on a “waiting list” for a session. This desire stems from a broader shift in his creative process.
The Evolving Importance of Collaboration
Collaboration has become a cornerstone of SiR’s current artistic approach. He explained that after a long career and establishing his unique sound, he’s now focused on elevating his songwriting and creating music that resonates universally.”I want better songs,” SiR stated candidly. “I’ve been around a long time. I got a lot of music out, but I have this thing in my head where I just want a classic. I feel like I have some really good records, but I want a song that everybody knows.”
He elaborated on how collaboration provides invaluable guidance and fresh perspectives, even when he’s leading the creative direction. “As a songwriter, I think the most beautiful music comes from collaboration because you have people there to give you guidance in your own thought process. Even if I’m leading the way, I have somebody in my ear that’s navigating into this place we’re trying to get to.”
SiR acknowledged that this openness to collaboration is a learned behavior, a departure from his earlier, more solitary creative process. “I spent a lot of time over the years just kind of closed off in my box, which was great because it created my world, my sound. But now that I have established my sound, I should always be open to people helping me create in my world, especially if they know what my world is.”
Gearing Up for the Next Project
Looking ahead, SiR confirmed that he is actively working on his next musical project, though details such as a title or release date remain under wraps. He emphasized the urgency to create new music, humorously noting that a five-year gap between projects might lead him to seek alternative employment.
“I am definitely thinking about my next project,” SiR shared. “It dose not have a name. We don’t have a date, but I am as busy as I can be right now, just with new songwriting and trying to stay ahead of it,because if I make you guys wait another five years for another project,I don’t think I’ma survive.”
Despite the drive to produce new material, SiR remains committed to quality over quantity. He stressed that he will not rush the process or compromise on the artistic integrity of the music.
“I’m not gonna rush. I’m not gonna force anything. I’m not just gonna put out anything,” he asserted. ”We need, you know, at least 40 to 45 minutes of just greatness, and I’m gonna do everything I can to deliver for the fans, because they deserve it more than anything.”
