Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU), Alexander Syrsky, recently concluded a working trip to units engaged in combat operations within the Donetsk region. His assessment, shared via Facebook, highlights a particularly challenging situation, but underscores the resilience of Ukrainian troops.
Intense Fighting Concentrated in key Sectors
The most intense fighting remains concentrated in the Pokrovske, Dobil, and Novopavlivske sectors. Syrsky reported that Russian forces are also increasing pressure in the northern part of the donetsk region, specifically in the Liman direction. Despite facing a numerical disadvantage, Ukrainian units are engaged in fierce defensive battles, successfully repelling attacks and, in some areas, launching counter-offensives.

Addressing Challenges and Strengthening Defenses
Following detailed discussions with brigade and corps commanders, Syrsky indicated that solutions are being implemented to bolster the stability of the defense.These solutions are based on direct feedback regarding needs and problematic areas identified on the battlefield. The focus is on ensuring Ukrainian forces have the resources and support necessary to withstand the ongoing offensive.
Reinforcements and Morale
Syrsky emphasized that the armed Forces of Ukraine are fully aware of their mission – to defend and liberate Ukrainian territory – and are capable of continuing to perform their tasks. He confirmed that units in the Donetsk region are receiving comprehensive support and reinforcements. He also praised the unwavering morale of the soldiers, acknowledging their dedication and effectiveness even under the most difficult conditions.
