SixTONES’ Jesse (28) will be taking on the role of a lawyer for the first time. He will be playing the role in the Fuji TV drama series “Monster” (Mondays 10:00 p.m.) in October. “It’s a challenge, but I think it will be a good experience,” he said, enthusiastically.
This legal drama is about the unconventional new lawyer played by actress Shuri (33) who disrupts the courtroom with a sense of game. Jesse plays a senior lawyer working at the same firm. She is a graduate of Tokyo University, good-looking and proud, but she is at the mercy of the protagonist.
Jesse often performs comedy routines and impersonations on variety shows, showing off his innocent side. He also has an airheaded side, which gets him teased by the other members. This time, he will be playing the role of an intellectual lawyer, so he will have to hide that side of himself. “When I heard about the role, I was happy, but at the same time, I thought it might have been a casting mistake,” he said, jokingly, and also expressed his nervousness, saying, “I wonder if the role is too far removed from me.”
Although he usually acts silly, he has a stronger sense of responsibility than anyone else and is the emotional backbone of the group. In his private life, he is in top form both in public and private, having recently been revealed to be in a passionate relationship with actress Haruka Ayase (39). Filming has already begun, and he said with enthusiasm, “It’s a pop drama with lots to see. I’ll do my best so that everyone can enjoy it.”
In addition, Arata Furuta (58) plays the protagonist’s father, a mysterious lawyer. Regarding working with Shuri and Jesse, he said, “I wonder if I should take Shuri and Jesse to Sancha… a tempura restaurant, or a grilled meat restaurant… I’d love to have a drink with the three of us!” He also seems to be looking forward to interacting with them outside of filming.
