Skegss, a surf rock duo, chose to cover INXS’ song “Don’t Change” for A.V. Undercover season nine. This song, from INXS’ third album Shabooh Shoobah, helped the band gain international fame. The original features strong guitar and Michael Hutchence’s confident vocals. The music video, directed by Scott Hicks, showcases Hutchence’s dance moves.
Ben Reed and Jonny Lani, members of Skegss, grew up with the song and have covered it before. They felt they could perform it well. Their version retains the original’s lively rhythm and playful riffs, though it does not include synth elements.
Skegss recently released their third album, Pacific Highway Music, in October. This album could help them reach new audiences. Check out their cover of “Don’t Change” in the video linked below.
